can you answer my question?

I am NOT an experienced computer person, but I am wondering if all this tracking software on certain websites should concern me?? Can you explain what exactly they are tracking? What is ISP? Do these web sites display where I live and is that how hackers get my information? Do these programs like spybot somehow block the ability for a website to track me? Or is there anything that can stop or block these website trackers from my information? Thanks for your time in explaining this to me.
