    Im running dual boot PC XP pro & W2K, thinking about making triple booter using two versions XP pro & W2K.
    So my Question is can I change the name of one of the XP pro's OS?
    That would make easier to Identify at the boot page and or in System Properties/Startup and Recovery.

    Thanks

    Yes.

    The easiest way is to go to start, run:

    C:\boot.ini

    Change the section(s) in quotes:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=5
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

    Then save it.

    You will need to remove the read only attribute from boot.ini as well.

    How do I remove read only attribute?

    Thanks! Again!

    Right-click on it > Properties > Uncheck Read-only

    To add to that, its a hidden file, so make sure you show hidden files and folders, and uncheck hide protected operating system files.
