I read that once you go over 1024 gbs of RAM XP will begin to slow down?????

I have heard that xp only allows 3.5 Gigs max so anything over would be waste but im not positive. As for slowing a comp down with too much ram I dont see it happening.

At some point you are just throwing away money. I have 1024 and I rarely use more than half of that, even with online gaming.

I can't tell any difference in how XP runs with 1 gb to 2 gb of ram. The difference I noticed was that some applications seem to run faster and the hard drive seems to work less.

One computer is an AMD64 3000 with 1 gb of ram and another AMD64 3200 with 2 gb of ram and XP seems to run the same on both machines. They would probably benchmark differently but not in a way that I would notice.
