Can you help me identify older Dell Rambus Memory Modules?

I have two memory modules that came out of an older (maybe in 2000) dell computer.

I believe it's Rambus memory since that's what he replaced it with. He upgraded from 2x128mb (I believe) to 2x256mb 800 at a cost of $213 EACH if you can believe that.

Anyway, he gave me his two old memory modules and now I'd like to find out what type they are if possible....one is a Samsung brand and has a heat sink.....this one is marked as Samsung Korea 0008 128MB/8 ECC. Both have the same number of connectors/pins.

The one is a dell brand and does not have a heat sink and has no such markings like the Samsung brand. But they're both notched in the same place.....two notches near the middle of the module.

It looks like it has about 86 connector/pins (43 on either side of the notches).....if I was counting right.

Can someone help me identify what I have? Maybe I can sell it on ebay.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi

Do you know the Model Dell he has? the tech specs from that should allow you to find out what speed they are, or are their any other numbers on the modules? ( numbers code could look like this MR16R0828AN1-CK7 )

From the 0008 128MB/8 they are indeed 128mb modules and as Rambus memory needs to be in identical pairs to work the other will be same size 128MB and density /8 ( which is the amount of memory chips on the actual module in 8 ) as the other one.... all your missing is what the speed of the modules are as they could be 600mhz, 700mhz ( rare ), 800mhz, 1066mhz

Yes Rambus memory is not cheap.

Rambus slots must all be filled. Special 'dummy' modules are used in any without actual memory. Don't let these go.
Rambus is fitted in pairs, so sell that way. There is a definite Ebay market for them. You have said enough to specify as Dell only fitted one standard i.e. pair 128Mb each Dell Rambus modules RIMM16.

If you need any more look at

I think you will find the prices more reasonable.
