Cannot access internet explorer

It seems as if Its always one problem or another, and everyone here always helps me to find a solution. Heres another one i incountered. Having problems with red x's in yahoo games and such. I cleared all cache and reinstalled java with no luck... so i decided that possibly a system registry restore would help. I restored to the date of 3-31-04 which it was operating properly. When i restarted my computer, i recieved an error saying could not access newdot.dll. Now internet explorer will not load giving me the error " internet explorer could not open this search page". And that's with any site i go to including hotmail. What can I do?

P.s i didn't mean system restore, I meant Scanreg/restore

I've tried safe mode but i've never been able to access internet explorer through it. I dont know why the system registry would be corrupted if it was working on the date that I restored it too.. And the other question. If i uninstall the newdot.net should that fix the problem? I'm accessing this site on my neighbors computer. I also ran adaware that may have taken care of it and may not need to uninstall.

well, try uninstalling newdotnet first. If you still cannot access the net, go through the fix in the second article.

 

Newdotnet ties into the winsock. If it doesn't properly uninstall, then she still will not get onto the net.
