Cannot access Mcaffee or Norton web sites

    I cannot get these sites to load its like they are blocked??

    Check your restricted zones in Internet Explorer.
    Also look at your hosts file.

    I found that almost every Virus software website was on that list. being why I could not access them to update my software.

    so I edited them out.

    Chances are very good there's much more wrong than just that.
    Some viruses and spyware types will mess with your hosts file. Better check out this thread:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25834
    and be running a good updated antivirus.
