Cannot access my gmail or sign in...

Cannot access my mailbox in google...

Until about a week ago I had no trouble signing into google, I could access my mailbox, etc, but now when I try to do that, or even sign in, I get the annoying message: “IE cannot access the webpage... and all the accompanying jargon…”

I deleted my cookies, deleted the url from My Favourites, retried signing in - to no avail. And even the address is now different - it never had this ig?hl=en attachment after the 'co.za' before

I did a check on Hubby's computer, but everything is normal on his - mail can be accessed, etc. We are networked, but this new thing doesn't affect his machine.

Any ideas, please, to revert back to what is tried and trusted instead of this "monstrosity" stocking its head out now?

Oh, forgot to add that I can still get whatever info I need from google - everything except my mail and signing-in facilities!! Which also means I cannot sign in to my YouTube either... VERY frustrating!!!
