Cannot access Windows Update.Error msg's

i am not a geek per say, but i restored my computer fully x'4 after a virus and a dirty peice of malware.
computer has never been the same since.
do not know if i am still infested, or lost reg or keys in removal.
just isnt the same, and i need the updates. thanks folks,and a fix.

i know iam doing this wrong or other...
tried to add to my previous post, but failed. truth is it is beyond my understanding.
i am just a user. i thought i knew something and found out i do not.
i did everything faithfullythat i read, follow all. downloaded everything.and the computer was working like out the box. PERFECT.got my upadates, restarted stuff that was dead. then i could use anything. now its started degraging again. same thing. always have to reformat. locked out. open file s no.shutdown no. denied//no permission. all i wanted was to play with a toy.
cannot identify cause. i am lost. the help i have gotten from you folks no one can pay for. sorry to come back and bother you. i am lost. just hope i can use the machine to reply. again thank you. rob bklyn,ny.
