Cannot boot normally after New prog install?

Hi all,
I wanted to be able to save a process priority for an IE8 process called ClearMyTracks. Forget about that issue for now. I installed a new prog called Prio to add features to my Task Manager. It required a restart. The restart stalled after the WIN XP greeting screen. Crashing happens at that point every time I boot normally now, or rarely the sign in screen opens for a moment before crashing and shutting down. These screens begin to load slowly and look faded, then they incrementally slowly fill in and the colors fade in...then black screen and shutdown. Seems kinda warm too.
I can boot into SAFE mode. Last good config does not work. If I Safeboot the command lines stall at mup.sys and asks if I wanna install SDTP drivers. Whether I say yes or just wait it eventually safeboots. I tried sys restore (it did reset) and chkdsk/F(did finish and reboot) in safemode and recovery console without success.
What do I do now please.

More info...If I am in safemode and try to play a movie in VLC it plays as if in slo-mo, and without sound. All drivers appear to be ok.

Uninstalled it in safemode. Then waited an hour for it to cool. On 3rd reboot it started normally. Event viewer had no useful info(to me anyway) and the MS link said no info avail.
Anything I should do now,or just hope its gone 4 good?
