cannot browse to certain sites on all browsers

Hi,

I've got issues browsing to www.cnet.com (for example) in all browsers. in internet explorer the status bar says "waiting for http://www.cnet.com/" and the page stays blank. In opera, it displays "Document: 0%" and nothing happens.

I am subscribed to a DSL ISP.

however if I look at a cachecheck with opendns it resolves to 216.239.122.120

with google chrome I get this "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error."

 

Sounds like a virus to me

I've seen lots of these in my shop.

Can you go to the windows update website?

Run GMER and run an online av scan, http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
If that works for you.

Also what is your OS/SP?
