Cannot ceate new folder on desktop

Had someone re-install Windows ME after browser crash. Now I can't create a new folder by right clicking on desktop. There is no "New" on the list. Any ideas? Jeff

 

Was it formatted or installed over the top? If the latter are you using any tweak programs?

 

HD was nuked. Fresh install. The only way i can get a new folder is in my favorites and then drag to desktop.

Have a look at the Support articles below, it involves making a change in the registry. Decide if this might be a solution for you then maybe get your friend to help out if you are not comfortable making these changes, if they apply.
