cannot communicate with Lexmark X3350

After working out the malware issues, the computer still cannot communicate with my printer. It installs, however, the usb composite has a green question mark. I know that the printer works, since it will install on my computer. Other things do not work, as well such as regedit, and many of the malware removal tools asked to be used by your tech team. What should I do first? By the way the computer is a gateway with windows me.
