Cannot Completely Delete User Account

I have a laptop running Win 10 x64 which had a corrupted User Account. I copied all the folders from the User folder and created a new account with Administrator permission, then removed the old account. It seemed ok at first, but now I'm finding that the old User account, which should be gone, is the default for certain permissions. How can I transfer all settings to the new account? I've done this before and never run into this problem, so I'm not sure what's happened...

This ought not to be too difficult to fix. Can you right click the Documents folder > Properties > Security > Advanced and post a pic please? Also tell us which of the names in the Principal column you want as the Owner. Alternatively click Owner (at the top) and accurately enter that name in the popup box and click Check Names. Everything has to be 100% accurate, case sensitive I believe. If that fixes your problem in Documents then repeat for Pictures etc.

I suspect this happened when you copied the Documents and other personal folders rather than copying the contents of those folders.

 

I think we can simplify that a little. Just double click the name you want and after checking everything is ticked just OK out.

 

Ok so here's what happened. When looking a little closer as to what was causing the error, it was actually the permissions for my GoogleDrive folder. As it turns out, when I switched profiles, it didn't actually change within the app settings where it was looking for the GoogleDrive folder, so it was pointing to C:/Users/<<OLDUSERPROFILE>> and kicking the error. Simple issue, just an oversight on my part. As usual thanks for all the input though.
