I reformatted my PC the other day and now, only a couple days later, I am having problems connecting to some websites. I never had this problem prior to reformatting or for the first day or two post-format for that matter. There are some other weird details

    - Some sites will not load on Firefox but will load on IE.

    - Some sites will load on neither browser.

    - Some sites/programs that require an internet connection, worked fine yesterday or even hours before (Such as a reputable online poker application) but now will not connect.

I tried rolling back the computer with system restore to the day before when everything seemed to work, and that didn't help. I tried using Spybot S&D and that didn't help. I am just confused and frustrated with what could be wrong and would really appreciate help.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

Which Windows version is this and service pack level?

As you have re-formatted, did you also install all the drivers for your hardware including the chipset driver? check in Device Manager for any yellow ! marks and if any what are they by.

What software have you installed, more wanting what Security software you have installed? if you installed a software firewall then disable it to test.

Use CCleaner to clear out your temp files and junk and run this guide here

The problem is not with your computer, it is with those site because some sites don't allow Mozilla Firefox.

    Hi

    Does not answer this though

Most sites if not all will/should work on most browsers and I have not come across any uptil now that wont work ok, the issue though could be in Java or Flash and those could need updating as these days many sites are media rich.

At times its just a case of deleting temps and cookies, which CCleaner will do easily.

@Hobbes1677 when you get a page that will not load what if any is the error message shown as to why?
