cannot connect to net after reformat??

I reformatted my laptop today and can not connect to the net. I checked my router with SMC tech support, and we were able to ping websites. It is working fine as are my other 2 pcs connected to my network.

I cannot connect to the internet on Firefox or IE.
Can anyone venture a guess as to what the problem is???

Looking at your other thread you have a Dell inspiron 1520 laptop.
Assuming you used either a Dell CD or a recovery partition when you reformatted, you are probably back to factory default configuration on your system.
Are you able to connect by wire/ethernet connection?
Do you have a Dell Wireless or other type of application running the wireless connection?
If so, it may be conflicting with the Windows Connection Application (WZC/WLAN service).You need to choose which app to use and disable the other one.If you want to use Windows, there should be on start up icon for the Dell/other app in the tray. Right click and exit/quit.
If you want to use Dell/other, go into Administrative Tools, Services and look for WLAN AutoConfig, right-click, choose Properties, Start up Type button and choose disable.
If you set up security on your wireless connection, double check these settings.
If you have a DSL/ADSL connection, make sure the username and password details are correct.
If you have a third party firewall already added, double check these settings.
