Cannot create directshow player

    I've recently been having problems with any streaming video that opens up with window media player 10. Whenever I go to open a stream with firefox or IE I am given a popup alert saying "Cannot create directshow player"

    I am running service pack 1, XP home.

    Try reinstalling WMP10.

    hmm, you know what? Apparently I couldnt reinstall it because the link at microsoft.com to WMP 10 was a link to WMP 11 beta. Ugh.
