Cannot Delete A Folder And File In Windows 10

I am trying to delete a folder on an external drive with 1 file in it. I had 5 other folders similar to this that I could not delete using Windows File Explorer. I managed delete them by using the Command Prompt and the Delete command naming the specific folder. This 1 file and folder, no matter what I do, cannot be deleted. I have also used an unlocker program which says it unlocked both the file and folder, still it cannot be deleted. I tried renaming the file but could not do that either. I will attach a screenshot of the file and folder I am talking about.



Any suggestions on how I can delete this file and folder?

Thank you. I tried another unlocker called "Unlocker" I found on the NET and it got rid of that folder and file. Still I am going to look into the link you posted. Thanks.

 

Unlocker is good.
Zer0 is actually a secure file deleter.

Never used and have no experience with Linux. But appreciate the idea.

 

I'm glad for this thread because I have an issue myself with deleting a folder "System Volume Information" from floppies. It is annoying and unnecessary and just clutters space. When I use DriveSpace to compress such a floppy on a Win98 computer, I have to delete the folder, as it wastes 64k.

 

who uses 64k on floppies in 2020?

 

I enjoy compressing and stuffing floppies. That, and I have an ancient Commodore 64C at my mother's house that takes floppies.
