Cannot delete a Folder

There is a folder in my desktop that I cannot delete, it was from a game a friend gave me like 8 years ago, I have deleted everything in it, including hidden files, but the main problem is this:
When I enter the folder there is another folder inside called GBA, I click on that one and see a folder called GBA, click it again and the same thing happens, the folder opens and seems to contain the same folder over and over again.
In the top direction bar (?) it says c:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\Game

When I start to select the folder it goes c:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\Game\GBA\GBA\GBA\GBA\GBA\GBA... and so on.

If I try to send it to the recycle bin it says its to big, if I would like to delete it permanently, I select "yes", then it says the file is to long of not especified.

    How can I fix this?
Should I use unlocker? if so, where can I find the instructions.
    Thanks in advance.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

    Thanks, that worked!
There are other 2 files that I would like to delete, they are in a diferent location, so how do I put them in avenger?

    The files are:
I dont know the location on this one but it appears everytime on the registry cleaner of CCleaner, it just says "-{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79}"

The other one is on the desktop, its called "dba5083cacde6f19c53d49ff", it has three folders and one file, but I cannot access them, the folders are called: common, sp1, sp2, sp1 and xpsp1hfm.

    Can I do anything there?

DO NOT do anything using avenger or otherwise with those other files. Let's see what others have to say about those. ;)

Alright, to remove avenger from my PC, do I just delete it?

I can't help much, but maybe I can trigger someone else.:-o

-{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79} is a software class key in your registry, not a file. If CC reg cleaner is reporting it as invalid, then it is likely leftover from some uninstalled software. If it is reported as something else or keeps coming back after you tried to fix it with CC, then you need someone more knowing than I am. These keys function to control processes, like opening files, by making sure the right program executes for the task.

dba5083cacde6f19c53d49ff ... xpsp1hfm.exe was or still is a dual migration tool to handle double binary file updates. Initially it provided a way to handle updates for both XP and XP with SP1. I have only run an SP3 system and never ran across dual migration updates before now.

Maybe someone will see this with "oh, yeah, I remember that!" and jump in.

    Good Luck:wave

-{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79} is put in the registry by Avira when it is installed. Avira refused to tell anybody what it was about initially but then said it was for internal purposes.

It is discussed more fully here. Some mention was also mentioned on the Piriform board.

As far as the other folder on your desktop. See here. Perhaps Kestrel13! can tell you if it is okay to delete since you have SP3 installed.
