Cannot delete file flash9.ocx

i just had this same problem, old thread or not, dragging the files to my desktop (right click->move) and then deleting them from there worked... in retrospect i might try messing with the permissions of the file to make sure you have them, but the drag'n'drop->delete is a little faster and more elegant. i personally didn't have to restart in order to delete them, just the move function, and I wanted people who have this problem in the future to know what worked for me. also, in my case there was an offending flash9.EXE file in addition to the OCX in the same folder, just to be thorough

 

i moved the flash ocx file to my desktop (and the flash util thats also non deletable)...

renamed the suffixes to .o (from .ocx and .exe), then i could delete them.
