Cannot Delete Folder From Desktop!

I have a folder on my desktop which has absolutely nothing in it and is 0 bytes in size. The problem is it just sits there and I can't get rid of it... Every time I try to delete the folder it reads 'Cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk'... It has been on the desktop for around 5 months now and I don't know what to do about it... please could somebody help me... thanks!

 

Can you rename it?

It sounds like somthing planted by a hacker's lameo script. If you can rename it, try deleting it after that.

 

try booting in 'Safe Mode' and deleting it...

 

use GIPO@move on boot, you can get it from none other than major geeks download section! that should rid you of the pesky beast

 

if it is only a file that isn't a virus i use ie privacy keeper. it has a secure wipe option. i only use this program for that function as it adds an easy select option when you right click on a file to allow for secure wiping.

I use ccleaner for wiping my tracks on-line cause it is functional with more programs.

 

by the way is you get it go to options and just check add secure delete option.
if you want it only for that uncheck the other stuff in all tabs
