Hi I am new at all of this but was hoping you guys and gals out there could help me out. I have two folders with many subfolders and files that I wish to delete but cant! I have tried a virus scan many times and am clean of any spyware and such to the best of my knowledge. The message I get when I try to delete is "Cannot Delete AYUMIH~1.MP3 <thats the file name I guess>: Cannot find the specified file. The second folder has the same message but different file name obviously. So I am stuck here, the folders contents are takeing up space on my HD which I really want to free up. So if anyone has any suggestions or ideas that would be a major help. I am running Win XP Pro if thats makes any sort of difference.
    Thanks
    Matthew

Try booting into safe mode, and deleting them from a command prompt. This works most of the time.

If you are unsure of how to remove them manually, try Gipo@MoveOnBoot, a freeware utility that will allow you to delete it on the next reboot.

When it can't find the file, it's sometimes because somewhere along the line you have "deleted" a program instead of "uninstalling" it. So, what happens is that the item you click "delete" on is removed from your system, but parts of it remain elsewhere that would have been removed if you had uninstalled!

I don't know any way of getting them off, but I'm sure there's a way that one more knowledgeable than I can pass on to you.

Far as I know they don't hurt anything by being there, other than using a little space.

Try installing the programme again and install to the same position as the previous one and then uninstall the proper way either in ''Add Remove'' or find the uninstall folder in the programme.
