Cannot delete infected file

McAfee virus scan has found a virus in a file on my PC but cannot delete it because it is write-protected. I had ran the virus scan while in safe mode. I went to the file in File Explorer and the right-clicked the infected file and selected properties. The file is ARCHIVEd. I tried to unarchive it so it could be deleted, but it won't let me. I'm using Windows ME if you need to know.

Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
