Cannot delete mail in Outlook Express

I have a customer that has Outlook Express and when he deletes messages, the messages are redownloaded the next time he starts up his Outlook Express. His e-mail is with sbcglobal.net and I am guessing that the mail is not being deleted on their server and it automatically resyncs with his Outlook when he starts it up. Is their something to set in Outlook Express or does this have to be done with the sbcglobal.net server?

Yes there are settings in Outlook/Outlook Express to leave the mail on the server. You will find them in account properties.

They are meant for example for use when the user has a laptop and desktop so that the email can be always downloaded to one place (?the desktop) but accessed at any time as well via the laptop, until they are permanently removed from the server.

If they are not removed, they will soon fill up the server space.
