Cannot down load

    Every time i try to down load anything i get thie message from ie cannot download (filename) connection to server was reset.

    i am on broadband/dsl in the uk and have just reinstalled windows, xp
    updated to the latest
    i connect throught a nic card and netgear 4 port adsl router/modem
