Cannot download Radeon 9200 update

    Hi all. After reinstalling XP, I have been trying to solve my slow graphics problem. Device manager tells me that VIAAGP1.SYS is needed and when I try to update, it won't let me past the path box.

    ALSO

    AMD won't let me update my 9200 driver - it tells me that my download is unauthorised. I have registered my card, but to no avail. I have tried other driver sites, but they all direct me to the AMD main site.

    Any ideas please?

    OH - also I get a message saying: Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup.

    Hi you will as you have re-installed XP, need to install the Chipset/Motherboard drivers for your version of motherboard, it will be a VIA chipset driver but their are 3 different ones to get, so we would need to know either:

    The make and model of your PC if is one from DELL, HP etc

    If you dont know some of the details above download Everest and it will tell you all the necassary info in Computer > Summary

    or

    The make and model of your motherboard if its a home/custom build.

    I notice that it says AGP is disabled.......

    done. working now except when i start up there is a message about installing VIAAGP1.SYS and when i try to install, it wont let me past the file path box.

    Does it ask for an update path and give you an option to browse for the location of this file?

    If so browse to this location
    c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and click the next or open button.
