Cannot finalize an installation of wireless card

I am trying to install a wireless network adapter( system is XP w/ SP2). I have followed the instructions exactly. I load the software, shut down and install the card, reboot and the new harware wizard pops up but it will not finalize saying that it cannot find the software! I have been on the phone with Belkin support several times, downloaded the updated software/drivers, saved to desktop, burned to disk, but to no avail. I believe that there is a problem with my os in that there is something perhaps in services that is shut off. I have tried everything that I can think of and I am out of ideas and patience. Any help would be most appreciated.

Do not read this aloud. You might become out of breath from reading it.
Put it the C.D. If it lets you, copy them over to the following folder:
C:\MG\ (you need to make it)
When it pops up, select from a list or specific loaction. Follow through to location and then type in C:\MG\ and then type in the name on the INF file (not autorun.inf). It should be in a folder named driver or something like that. Then try again. If not, bring the card back to the store. If it does not let you copy off the disk, try downloading and extracting.
