I have a acer laptop with windows 7 and last month i was able to burn cd's from windows media player..I dont know what happened but now i cant seem to get any thing to burn on a cd... I go to wmp and select my songs for my cd to burn,,
before when i played back the cd on the computer a box would pop up asking me to play my cd..

now it comes up saying *DVDRW drive (d) and the name of the cd i was burning.*.. then the general options would ask me did i want to * open folder to view files* instead of *play cd,,,,,my drive used to say dvd/cd drive d...now it just says cd..helpppppppp!!!

    Hi,
try taking the drive out boot up then shut down, install the drive again and boot up, see if recognises it correctly now.
