There is an error on startup that says a dll cannot be found. I googled the name of it and it I get no results. The name of it is xbkgphgc.dll. In case you think it might be related, there has been a lot of malware removal on this computer recently. Any ideas?

The error you're getting about the .dll not being found is a GOOD thing! You did some malware removal, and the file xbkgphgc.dll was malware. Many viruses/trojans these days are random strings of 8 letters. That's why Googling it comes up empty. Click Start > Run and type msconfig and press Enter. Click the Startup tab and look for a reference to xbkgphgc.dll and uncheck the box next to it. When you restart, the error should be gone.

It is an item in your run keys ....which (since it is gone) gives the error.

I imagine that there may also be other leftover malware ...so it would be best to go to the malware section and follow the Read and Run First sticky and then start a thread with the attached requested logs.

    Thanks for the fast replys.

I have completed part of the READ & RUN ME FIRST process, but I did not do it exactly as the instructions said to, and the major problem that was caused by malware was solved, so I did not post any logs. I would like to post logs for review, but I need to know what I should do considering I am not starting from scratch with the process. Since I've already done part of it, and not exactly as the instructions say, I'd like to know if I need to take any steps backwards in order to redo them exactly as the instructions say.

The things I did NOT do exactly as the instructions said.

When running CCleaner, I ran it with ALL default option including options in other tabs. I did not deselect anything under any other tabs, which the instructions seem to say to do.

Also, when I was installing Spybot, I did NOT install SDhelper.

The major malware symptom(could not view webpages in IE) was fixed after running ComboFix. I went ahead and ran Spybot but did nothing after that.

So, considering I have done everything up to Spybot and didn't do it exactly as the instructions said, what do you advise I do? Uninstall everything and start over, or just pick up where I left off?
