cannot format drive

    i have just reinstalled xp on drive D: vista is on drive C: and i cannot format or delete C:
    can you please point in the right direction

    Don't do this, or else you won't be able to boot your system.
    Your boot.ini file is located on C:\ even if you have 5 drives and 5 operating systems on each.

    Anyway, it looks that you don't have a problem formatting and deleting (you don't have important data on your drives)

    So, just boot up your Windows XP CD and install it on C:\ (after you format it using the CD - just don't select "Leave the current file system intact")

    After that, you can delete Windows XP on D:\ without any problems.
