    Hi,

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and have now changed my monitor. The monitor is a HP Elite E231. When I connected for the first time I got the "Out of Range" error message and asked to change to 1920 x 1080 by 60hz. and the monitor shut down every 30 seconds. The highest resolution I could select to get rid of the message and get the monitor to stay on is 1400 x 1050 which is the wrong aspect ratio and my images are elongated.

HP website says enable VGA or low resolution and I have done that and made it permanent on boot up, but it has made no difference. The only available choices of resolution are the 4:3 ratio and the highest that works is the one above. I have posted copy of my display information below.

I haver tried uninstalling the adapter driver and restarting but it make no difference. How can I get to the higher resolutions that my system is capable of and get the 16:9 ratios?

    Any help would be appreciated.

"Made it permanent on bootup"? How did you do that?

Have you installed the Monitor 'driver' from the HP Support site and installed it yet?

Have you got the Nvidia driver for Windows 10?
