cannot get past warning screen

I am trying to do a restore of Windows XP on a dell desktop. At the 34 minute left point I get a warning screen about an audio card/program saying that it is not approved by Microsoft.

There are yes and no boxes to check. I cannot use the mouse, and the arrows do not work. Pressing the enter button does not work either.

I'm guessing you are using an USB keyboard. See if you can find a PS/2 keyboard (with the round plug) that should let you use the keyboard during install. [Note: you have to start the computer with the ps/2 keyboard attached--you can't just switch it out in the middle of the install--you'll have to start the install again.

On Edit: Is it asking you for input? To say yes or no to something? What are you trying to cursor down to?

I have a Dell Dimension 9100. I purchased a PS/2 keyboard this morning and discovered that my computer does not have a PS/2 port. There is something that looks like a PS/2 port but the PS/2 plug does not fit.

Is there a work around for this?

 

Is there a work around?.....I would really like to try a "repair" before Installing a fresh copy of Windows XP
