Cannot Install Win7 Security Updates

    Suspect ByteFence is preventing updates since 3/2019. Logs attached. Any help appreciated!

    Yup....have each scan remove everything they found. Reboot and rescan and then attack the new logs.

    Rogue seems the only one that is free. Log empty. Updates still fail.

    ADWCleaner and MalwareBytes are free...Hitman may have run out on the license. Please attach the ADW and MBAM logs.

    They look good....one more scan, please:

    their program is no longer free, but you can use the demo version for this cleaning.

    It auto updates, and you click scan. After it's finished, click on the icon that looks like Cell phone strength bars. High-light the report (by date log was produced) and click on the "Open Report" icon. (looks like a folder). That notepad.txt can then be copied/pasted into another .txt doc and saved. Upload that, please.

    Unfortunately, I see the results, but no report was generated. Haven't figured a way to take a screenshot. Objects detected are 1769 HiJackHosts and 2 HiJack chrome plugins.

    Unfortunately, no report is listed after clicking on the icon. The list box is empty and there is nothing to click.

    I am not sure I understand...are you saying it found 1796 infections or just scanned 1796 objects? If you clicked Reports and nothing was listed...it means you are clean.

    Are you still having update issues?

    It is odd that it found 1796 infections and did not generate a report. Unless the HiJack items were not considered infections.

    Yes, updating still fails.

    How do you know that it was infections if there was no report?

    What are you doing, exactly, to try to update?

    The results are displayed in the main dialog box, but when I click the report button, there is no report logged.

    I'm using Windows Update. Screenshot attached.
