I recently started a new job, international company, central website to manage your benefits, direct deposit, etc. Pretty slick.

At work I have no trouble accessing my account, but no time to manage anything.

At home, whenever I try to log on, I get the message; Sun Java System Access Manager, Authentication Failed.

So I called the help desk. They had me change user name, then password, no joy, same message. Then they told me that was all they could do, some computers couldn't access the system.

Ironically, the company and position I am working in is for technical support itself! I am also a "help desk" and that response isn't allowed of course.

Things I've tried; uninstall and reinstall Java, allow third party cookies, turn off Windows firewall, run IE with no add-ons.

Win 7, 64 bit, AVG, IE8, 32 bit, (Java also 32 bit). Toshiba Satellite lappy.

    Any other idears?

I just remembered one other thing. All their computers are running IE6. Could this make a difference and if so, is there a way to emulate IE6?

    Problem solved!

The in private filtering settings needs to be set to "off" for my access to work.

I don't even understand what that really is as I have never monkyed with those settings before.
