Cannot open new program or another tab in Internet Explorer 7

    I'm having some issues with my computer. Here's some info about my computer. Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, Win XP Service Pack 2, Internet Explorer 7.

    Here's the problem I'm having with my computer. After it has been on for awhile when I try to open a new program, like windows media player, or another tab in Internet Explorer it will not open. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks, Tony.
