cannot open windows update and more

I had a virus, I don't know what it was but now I cannot open windows update, system properties, network properties, symantec antivirus will not scan it automatically stops. Windows xp pro on a domain.

 

When you say, you had a virus, was it resolved in the spyware forum? If not, I highly suggest going there!

Now, if you are on a domain, you may be restricted from even going to the places you wish to modify from the IT department.

 

I have full access, I ran spyware programs and antivirus programs, computer is clean. I did have a virus but the person deleted before I found out what it was. My antivirus is not working so there are no files to look at to see what it was. I think it might have been blaster but not sure. All the antivirus programs I ran and spyware show nothing but I cannot open system files, windows update does not work, network properties will not display.
