Cannot print from browser (only)

Hello. The MajorGeeks Malware gurus helped me clean my friend's system, but this problem remains: His Epson CX4200 will not print from any browser (IE8 or MSN) although it will print fine from other programs. The computer beeps one to four times, but nothing prints. If I request a Print Preview, it shows a blank page with something like this at the bottom: file://C:\DOCUME~1\HP_Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\Y24CC6ZJ.htm
Only the letters/numbers change between the "Temp" and the ".htm"

The Malware experts referred me to you. Any help you can give would be most appreciated.

 

Thank you for your response, TimW. I heard back from my friend today and, yes, he can select, copy and paste, and print from IE8 through a word processing program.

As additional information: in the final cleanup process from your Malware forum, I installed Mozilla Firefox as the backup browser for him. He can print normally from there, although not all of his favorite web pages will load completely.

 

I will recommend the cleaner. Sometimes it takes me a few days to reach him. I will let you know the result. As always, thanks.
