Somehow that found its way into my computer. I tried program removal which does not, did Firefox Tools add on suggestion, that did not work either. How does one get this tenacious junk out of the computer?
    Thanks,

This site tells you different ways to remove the BHO Malware. It involves using MalwareBytes AntiMalware an Piriform's CCleaner.

Seems to have done the trick. Do not see it listed anywhere.
    Now on to other glitches

    Still have IH3 Toolbar
Thought I had rid myself of it using mdonah's suggestions, but it seems to still be around.
Started to download from cleaners from Bleeping Computer when program ads popped up to download.
I did not. I am trying to clean up this computer, getting rid of files and programs I do not use, and that looked like it would add even more.

    Hi

I would give this app a try BHO Scanner and then run CCleaner and its Cleaner and Registry cleaner and run the registry one until nothing lists.

NOTE: if you are running Vista,Win7 or Win8 then run the software as an administrator, as sometimes some files need admin access to be deleted from specific folders in Windows.

If you still have issues, then the below is a good option.

I am not sure what is going on, but as the saying is "something's rotten in Denmark."
I think I am getting redirected. Tried to download the suggestions and I get something about Zip downloads
This is beginning to be the further I go, the behinder I get.
I am going to run Avast, Malware anti...CC cleaner and see if they or one of them can flush something.
My mail service is all screwed up, my computer keeps locking up for a brief moment, I am getting pop up ads like crazy, I am typing something and I look up and the typing on the screen is playing catch up, I still have IH3 toolbar (although it does not show).
What a revoltin' development dis is

Besides the page I had linked you to in my original reply to your post (#2), I had gone to the ComboFix Forum. ComboFix states that this particular BHO malware is difficult to remove. The reason for that is the fact that other malware comes bundled with the toolbar, some of which is nearly impossible to detect or impossible to remove once installed. Removing the toolbar may still leave remnants of the other malware which CAN reinstall the toolbar.

At this point, since none of the suggestions posted by DavidGP, myself and others that you've tried have seemed to work, it looks like you may be faced with the possibility of having to wipe/reformat your hard drive and re-install Windows and your apps.

If/when you do, I recommend you install Spyware Blaster AND Spybot Search and Destroy to protect you from further infestations.

    Hi Sarge,

Do boot into Safe Mode with Networking and see if you can run the Malware guide posted earlier as mdonah posted this BHO is not easy to remove at times, hence all of the removal guides and apps around to "try" and remove this, the only way I feel now is to manually try the Malware guide and removal instructions our malware removal experts give you.

In the end a re-install maybe the best option

I believe I have run every anti-anything program trying to get rid of that toolbar. It simply refuses to go quietly. However, I do not see it active on my screen.
I did have a couple of other questions pertaining to unknown programs that I have gotten
One is called everything, the other sweet packs.
I also am getting pop ups out my ears, many wanting me to install or update some video (?) player.

Mozilla is still being Mozilla, esp T'Bird. I often had to try 2 or 3 times to send an email. Error messages tell me sending of PW failed, or was not recognized. or system timed out.

I am beginning to think the idea of reinstalling XP Pro is going to be my only way to cure all my ills on this. But, that will require a new program disc, mine is damaged and will not load.
Morton salt has it right. When it rains it pours.

Many thanks to all who have tried to help me here. Greatly appreciated you all.

Well, Toolbar is still listed in programs, but I cannot find it.
Now I have inherited messages to the 10th power telling me I need to install/update something called FLV MP PLayer.
Earlier while running Avast, Malware and all their cousins in an attempt to clean all the crud out of my machine, one of them "removed" Misleading Yantoo. Thought that might be the reason behind all the popups for an MP player, but they keep coming up. And, my now-chronic speed io January molasses has not gone away.
I am going to do the Malware removal scenario tomorrow. Too tired and too late to start on that.
If that ain't the culprit, I'll look for a new XP Pro or Win7 program . My XPPro CD is damaged and will not load.
Meanwhile I will say 3 Hail Microsoft's,light a couple of virtual candles and cuss a blue streak. Maybe that'll help.

Ebay has Windows XP installation CDs with COA for around $55. Sorry you couldn't remove that toolbar some other way but, like I said, it's extremely difficult to remove because of the other malware that comes bundled with it.
