Cannot remove sp2

Hi, I recently purchased windows xp home. Unfortunatly it shipped with sp2. I've tried a few different ways to remove it and nothing has worked. First I went to remove it in add/remove programs but its apparently not there. I also tried using command lines in the recovery console but then realized it SHIPPED with sp2 so I have no clue why I even tried that. Lastly, I looked in the windows folder under hidden files to try to delete it that way.... no cigar. I'm going to make the assumption that since it shipped sp2, and is therefore nothing like a hotfix(dont know how else to put it) it's not removable. Any suggestions?

( removing SP2 in WinXP is a huge security risk and is not recommended. This particular update has a lot of security for the WinXP OS, not only that SP1 is no longer supported by MS.) this advice came from bjgarrick who is part of the malware team. is there a reason why you want to remove this update?

You will not be able to remove SP2 from your new PC as the version that is installed is an embedded SP2 version, meaning its not a SP2 update and thus has no uninstaller files, if you start uninstalling files from the C:\windows folder than your OS will stop working.

Suggestion is leave it be as their is nothing majorly wrong with SP2, but if you wish to not have SP2 then you will have to try and buy an Original RTM or SP1 XP CD.
