Cannot reply to a thread?

Hi, I have recently joined but find I am unable to respond to an existing thread,

I get this error message:

Red_Gem, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I find however, I can respond to a 'New Post' and I can start a new thread. Have I missed something somewhere? (not unknown)

 

If it is in the Malware Forum you won;t be able to answer to them unless you started the thread. Only specialized approved Malware Fighters can post replies in there.

 

Thanks for the quick response. The thread to which I think I have something relevant to add is, as you thought, in the Malware forum. I had exactly the same problem as the poster there reported and I thought my experience with it my throw a bit more light.

 

In malware you see this listed for forum description
Malware (short for Malicious Software) includes Spyware, Adware, Viruses, Trojans, Dialers and Rootkits. Also for questions related to your computer's security.All posts are answered by approved professionals

That last line is why we don't allow anyone to reply to others posts in malware.
