cannot restore to an earlier point

Trying to do my housecleaning, on top of running Ccleaner, I did download and run AML Free Registry Cleaner, and Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. Now my AVG Free antivirus doesn't update anymore , also I am just discovering that Google Earth cannot connect to the server and get stuck when running the diagnostic. I have no idea if other programs will have the same problem. Trying to repait the misshap, I did run the restore program only to find out that a message stating that my restore has not been completed, please find another restore point..... So the restore points ARE there but I cannot use them.

Good registry cleaners offer you the option to create a backup.
Go in reverse order. Run the last cleaner you ran and restore the registry. Reboot and see if the program is fixed. If not, run the 2nd to last registry cleaner and restore the registry. Again reboot and see if the problems are fixed.
If the problems get fixed, please write down the name of the registry cleaner that was used and never use it again! Not all registry cleaners are safe, as you discovered. It is better to have a messy registry than to be overzealous in cleaning and break things.

 

If Windows System Restore doesn't work, try again several times over a few days, perfect it ain't
