    Hello,

I have had an odd issue several times now where I have trouble waking my monitor up when it has shut off due to inactivity. I move the mouse and the monitor briefly comes back on but then immediately goes black again. If I shut the monitor off and turn it back on again several times, the problem eventually goes away. This has only happened late at night and at no other time and I don't find other evidence of a hardware issue so I decided to run some malware scans.

I find that I cannot run Malwarebytes or AdwCleaner. For both of these, I get the message that this is not a not a valid Win32 application. I have downloaded fresh copies of both programs. I also tried running mbam-clean-2.3.0.1001 and restarting. This does not help. I have also tried running with my firewall turned off (Privatefirewall 7.0). There are no entries in the Privatefirewall application or process list for malwarebytes.

I ran the rest of the malware removal programs and also mbar-1.10.3.1001. As far as I can tell, none of these programs found anything. I have attached the logs of what I was able to run.

This is windows XP pro 32-bit.

    Thanks for the help,

Have you tried a different monitor?

I have a different monitor here that I will try, but I find it odd that it only happens between the hours of 11:00pm and 1:00am more or less. This monitor goes off all day long because the computer is not used that often and I have never had any issues bring it back up, except at these hours late at night.

At this point, I am more concerned about not being able to run Malwarebytes, the monitor issue was what provoked me to run some scans.

Thanks for the information. This is the link to the last version that you can run on XP,

    https://data-cdn.mbamupdates.com/we...tup-legacywos-3.5.1.2522-1.0.365-1.0.5292.exe

It does update the database on run, so it does provide a reasonably current assessment. The scan didn't find anything some I am guessing that the capacitors on my monitor are going bad.

    Thanks again,
