Cannot turn wireless on

I just a new tablet PC, the Asus R1F, and the first time it went into power save mode it turned the wireless card off, and now I absolutely cannot find a way to turn it back on. The computer is using the Intel PRO Wireless configuration tool, which tells me that 'wireless is turned off, click below to turn it back on', but there is no option to turn it on. The software will not let me use Windows to configure wireless. The wireless on/off switch is definitely switched on.

I could only find one other page on the internet where someone was having a similar problem is here:

...but I tried everything that guy tried in his first post with no luck (rebooting, repairing the connection, using device manager etc) and the solution he quotes in his last post does not work for me either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
