Cannot view multiple.........

Recently I cannot view multiple windows Internet Explorer. Whenever I try to open up another brower it just views one. For example:
- I open my Internet brower by clicking on my shortcut onto my desktop I get the IE window.
- When I do it for a second does not give a second IE window to view I only have one??

How can this be fixed, please help.

 

I forgot to ask that it will close IE and open new one

 

does IE respond to the new window command, 'ctrl N' ?

also, have you been up to date on your adware and spyware scans?
