canon ip 3000

    I had a canon Pixma ip 3000 installed on my computer, but it died so I got another one and when i plugged it in it installed as Pixus ip 3100 and came up with an error saying The waste ink absorber is full. I changed the ink tank absorber and still no good. Why did it install as Pixus ip 3100 not pixma ip 3000.
    What to do??
