Does anyone know how to to use a Canon MX926 with Microsoft Scan and fax (Built in and free is always better than buy!!) or alternatively, some other software that I could use it with?

By default, faxes are saved in its own memory and I cannot get to them from the network. It also says it cannot detect the USB memory key when trying to save faxes to it, even though it detects the memory key just fine when inserted!!

So, if I could use it as a fax server (sort of), I could get the faxes to come straight to my computer (I hope)

Hello JoeRay, sorry for the delay. The O/S is irrelevant at this stage. Windows XP/8/10 all have MS Scan and Fax available. The issue is whether this printer can be used as a fax server like I want it as Canon themselves cannot answer me this one.

I think I found the correct network name of the printer on my windows 10 box but MS Scan and fax couldn't find it. I will try on a Windows 8 and 7 box next as the printer has issues printing from windows 10 but not 7, xp or 8.

Come to think of it, Canon's answers have always bore absolutely no relationship to the questions I ask them. It's as if "You got your printer, now bugger off"
