Can't access files from device manager?

I have windows XP pro64x.Two days ago i got a wireless pci adapter,found 64 drivers for it finally,installed drivers from hardware update wizard,told it i would select location of file to install,worked fine.I did a clean install the next day,and now when i try to install that driver the same way,won't let me?also saying its looking in D drive not in C?I can find the folder i want,but the ok option gets grey and i no longer have that option.My cousin also had this problem on xp home.I'm confused lol,i was just able to do this before i did reinstall.If anyone knows what i need to do or try lol i'll try any thing at this point lol,i'm at my wit's end lol. I needed to get a program to deal with rar files,as the driver was a rar.I just got winrar,worked great,i had forgotten i had that before reinstall. Tim
