Can't access HD using IDE USB cable...

I've been having trouble with my pc and suspect it may be a problem with the hard drive.

I've got the HD plugged into another pc i am using as i write this, using an IDE to USB cable but i dont seem to be able to access it :s

The pc has found the 'mass storage device' and in its properties menu it is telling me that the device is working properly, but i can't access it from My Computer or windows explorer etc. It just isnt listed.

How do i access it?? I don't have to change the jumpers or anything do i?

 

Sorry ignore this, its now telling me the device is knackered. never mind
