    Hi,

Just recently, I removed a bunch of spyware (namely Virtual Bouncer stuff) using Ad-aware SE from my main computer. I did not use the VX2 plug in. I then rebooted my machine. Since then, I can no longer access the internet. Neither internet explorer, eudora, outlook express works. I've even tried accessing my router to no avail. I am completely stumped.

Until the removal of the spyware, my internet connection from my main computer was A-OK, much to the delight of Virtual Bouncer (I presume). I know it's something with my main machine because I'm still able to access the internet through my secondary computer (this one, that I'm typing this thread on) without a problem.

I've seen the thread regarding the article on tackling spyware and would love to use it, except I have no internet capability on my main computer. Would I still be able to perform those steps provided I downloaded them onto this compter?

    Thanks in advance

    jim

Just wanted to say that this problem is no longer an issue. Between HijackThis and LSPFix, I was able to solve this problem.

But, I wouldn't have been able to do it without the resources on this website. Thanks, again.

I am having a similar problem where the removal of spyware caused my America Online connection to cease at the point of Getting Network Attention.

How did you solve your problem (details pls, I am no expert).

Thanks, I have Win XP (SP2 was installed in hopes it would solve the problem). Doesnt do me any good if I have no spyware running, but I cannot access the America Online or Netzero ISP.
I am going to have to a friends PC and download all the stuff I should be running (HIjack, etc) in order to post it so that you folks can take a looksee.

In the meantime, I was hoping that what ever solved it for Baklobster would work for me too. :)
