Can't access ISP with dial up modem

To try and make a long story, short. I had my mother's computer here (Running Windows XP Home), for system updates, and general PC cleanup. Usually, the computer only connects to the Internet using a dial up modem. While it was here, I installed my router, and was using my wireless high speed. Everything was working just fine, until they took the computer home, and tried to connect to the Internet using their usual dial up.

I have no idea how it happened, but after speaking to my sister on the phone for 45 minutes, it seems that her ISP icon on the desk top is completely inactive.

We discovered that going into Network Connections shows that the connection for her normal ISP is gone, leaving only an icon for LAN.

When trying to create a new connection (just start from scratch) everything is well, until she needs to select create manual connection >> connect using a dial-up modem. She can't select dial up modem, it's greyed out.

We've tried going into Device Manager, and disabling her modem, then re-enabling, to no avail.

I had her uninstall the 'Network Magic' used for my router, she's set the LAN connection to disable, rebooted half a dozen times, tried to manually set up a new connection, using a dial up modem & ends up with the same problem every time. She's never able to select 'dial up modem' from the list.

It seems like, after using Network Magic on the computer, while it was here, seems to have completely irradiated any sign of her normal, dial up ISP, and all of it's settings.

Can someone please tell me how to get her back online again with her dial up modem, and ISP..I'm out of ideas, and to be honest, have NO idea how this would have happened in the first place. I was suppose to be fixing the computer for her..and I've managed to send it home more useless than it was in the first place :-o

Try running Win Sock XP Fix and post back results. It reset all network connections back to Windows Defaults. I may or may not resolve the issue.
