Can't access many websites/email

Hi,
I have tried following all the directions on here for spyware removal. I have a new gateway computer with Windows XP Pro. Norton Internet Security 2005 is running and I downloaded all the programs suggested for spyware removal. I have also spent most of the last 3 days talking to tech support on the phone and nobody can help me.

Here are the symptoms... I can get email from my ISP but not from msn/hotmail. I also cannot go to many websites like www.google.com

I have even tried reinstalling windows but this doesn't help. Everybody I've talked to has told me it's probably a spyware problem. Is there anybody who can help me?

Details of computer: Gateway Pentium4. windows xp pro. 120gb HDD. 256mbram. Nvidia Display driver. Cable modem using Roadrunner highspeed internet (timewarner).
